aight - the number between seven and nine

Big Blue Nation - any fan of the UK men's basketball team

deerekshuns - directions or anything that includes the words, "go past the dog sleeping in the yard", or "the fourth church on the right"

far - what you light in your wood stove on a cold night

Lancaster - LANK-astr

Louisville - LOO-uh-vull or even LOO-vull

ponies - horses (used especially in 'betting on the ponies')

tar - you need four of them for your vehicles

yonder - over there (usually accopanied by a wave or a pointing finger

you-uns - you (singular or plural); aka "y'all" in Texas

  2. Great post, I could hear the accent in my head as I was pronouncing them, where I live we have several Hullisms.
