Usually, I have to psyche myself up to write. Yeah, I know, even though I like doing it. Gotta get up, wake up, have some coffee and silence all those naysaying self-talkers running around in my brain.
Then I play some music that makes we want to get up and dance, or run around the yard, or ... write! In fact, I listed to a video on YouTube of "Boondocks" by Little Big Town. In fact, there's a whole "Country" playlist filled with songs that (mostly) rev me up something fierce! And the more engaged and excited I am, the more passionate my writing, and the clearer my 'voice'.
A great way to find and share that clear voice, LuAnn! Lovely! ♥
ReplyDeleteThanks, Shilpa!
DeleteI love Country too. I used to have great playlists set up on Grooveshark with country music and Celtic music. Sadly, Grooveshark is no more what it used to be. I'm looking at alternatives. Meanwhile, I use YouTube as well.
ReplyDeleteGrooveshark, is that like Pandora? Chalk up another Celtic music fan here, Corinne! :O)
DeleteI love country music too...And actually any kind of music just helps me focus on the writing and silence the outside noise :)
ReplyDeleteMy only problem is having time to write. But when I do write, I need to do it in silence! Sure, I can put music on but I get so focused that I block out the music so it doesn't really make much of a difference XD
