Now, reading and reading challenges are two of my favorite things, and I'll go ahead and give a little sneak peek into one of the books that I'll be using for this challenge...

Synopsis

Ryan Kowalczyk has spent the last 15 years on death row. Like every other death row inmate, he clung steadfastly to his claim of innocence. Accused of brutally beating two young parents to death with a baseball bat, while their 3 year-old child slept under a blanket in the back seat of the car, no one felt sorry for Kowalczyk, especially Detective Harry Ryman who arrested Ryan for the crime.

After Ryan is executed, his mother, Mary, hires Mason to prove her dead son's innocence and build a case against the man she believes is the actual murderer; her son's best friend. As Mason delves deeper into the case, he journeys further into danger and a dark world rife with fear, deceit, corruption and murder.

HUNGRY HEARTS

My Hungry Hearts this week comes from The Parting by Beverly Lewis.  The cover below is linked to Goodreads, and I will post my review of this book at 1600 hrs US eastern time today!

For as long as I can remember, I've eagerly awaited the harvest.  Oh, the tantalizing scents wafting from Mamma's kitchen, come autumn.  But it's not my mother's baking as much as it is my own that fills the house with mouthwatering aromas.  Each year I entertain myself, seeing how many ways I can use pumpkin in an array of baked goodies.  Naturally there are pumpkin pies and pumpkin breads.  But I also delight in making pumpkin cookies with walnut pieces and brown sugar sprinkled atop.  And there is spicy pumpkin custard, too, and gooey pumpkin cinnamon rolls--sticky buns, of course--cinnamon pumpkin muffins, and the most popular item of all:  pumpkin cheesecake.

Question(s) of the Day:

What is your favorite literary genre?
(My Answer) - cozy mysteries w/historical fiction a close second.

and/or

If you like pumpkin goodies, which is your favorite?
(My Answer) - I made a wicked good pumpkin cheesecake one time and took it to my work.  My only regret was that I had to share! *lol*

  2. Right now I'm reading memoirs of writers and musicians. I watch Sherlock Holmes for the mystery fix.

  3. Oh my gosh, I love your hungry hearts quote LuAnn!! So nice! And now I want pumpkin even if that's not really on the menu at this time of the year :D
I don't think I can pick a favorite literary genre, I read all over the place, YA, NA, adult, classics, mysteries, thrillers, urban fantasy, paranormal romance, contemporary romance... impossible to choose one I like more than the other, really.
Have a fantastic Friday and happy reading.
