New York native Gia Morelli is just getting used to life in Florida when she gets word that the town government wants to shut down her pride and joy: the charming little diner known as the All-Day Breakfast Café. A forgotten zoning regulation means that the café was opened illegally, and hardboiled council president Marcia Steers refuses to budge. Gia is considering hanging up her apron and going back to New York, but before she gives up on her dream, she discovers something shocking in the local swamp: Marcia Steers, dead in the water. There’s a secret buried in the books at town hall, and someone killed to keep it hidden. To save her café and bring a killer to justice, Gia and her friends will have to figure out a killer’s recipe for murder . . .

MY REVIEW
Have you noticed how many cozy heroines leave the New England area for the Southeastern US? In Murder Made to Order, the second of the "All Day Breakfast Cafe Mysteries", Gia thought she was settling into her new life in Florida.
Then, an overlooked zoning regulation puts the cafe's very existence in peril. And a letter-of-the-law councilwoman makes the situation even more precarious. What could make it worse? (Silly question, I know.) Finding said councilwoman drowned in the nearby swamp could happen ... and does. (Don't all those tv prosecutors drool over such clearly outlined motives?)
As a big fan of breakfast food for lunch, supper, midnight snack, or any old meal-time, I would be a regular at the All Day Breakfast Cafe. And not just for the great food, or the cute little doggie either! Staff and patrons alike each add their own unique 'flavor' to the menu.
Gia is great. She is talented, adventurous, and determined...and all too human. She has fears of more things than anyone elso on earth, except for maybe Adrian Monk. We all get overwhelmed at times, but Gia and Adrian are *ahem* exceptionally talented in that direction.
Murder Made to Order follows Scone Cold Killer in the series, as naturally as a main course follows an appetizer. And this tasty series will continue later in the year with A Cold Brew Killing.

MEET THE AUTHOR
When she was growing up, she spent many lazy afternoons on the beach, in the yard, anywhere she could find to curl up with a good book. She loves reading as much now as she did then, but she now enjoys the added pleasure of creating her own stories.
