  1. So I Married an Axe Murderer... Jane stop this crazy thing... awesome... I think also Miss Potter was one of her best work and I don't normally like her.

  2. Thanks Jeremy, I'm glad you stopped by. I enjoyed both your "sequels" theme and the designs at your tee shirt stop!

  3. Miss Potter I secretly LOVED. It had such a worm feel to it, it made me feel calm and relaxed. And very entertained as well. ;)

  4. Hey Luann, nice to meet you. 'Galaxy Quest' and Axe Murderer' two movies I love and forgot about when composing my list. I also like 'older' movies. Great list.

  5. Galaxy Quest and Stargate - good ones! As for the Lethal Weapon franchise, I went with #1, but they're all good. :)

    ReplyDelete
  6. RED's on my list too - such a superb movie and Galaxy Quest so very nearly made it :). Great choices.

  7. I still need to see Miss Potter. Excellent list. Lots of favorites on this one. :)

  8. I've only seen a few of these. Henry V looks like one to add to my list to see.

  9. Thanks for visiting, George! I loved that bit at the end of Miss Potter when she talks about marrying the guy and that "her mother did not approve". Loved your horror take on the list!

  10. Welcome to the porch, farawayeyes! I like your Top Ten categories! Saves time on having to winnow a list down to 10 individual movies!

  11. Bob, come on and pull up a chair and let's all talk movies! Absolutely gorgeous picture as the background for your blog header. Kind of beautiful, sad and spooky all at the same time!

  12. Karen, great to see you on the porch!

I think a lot of us are having that experience today - that of finding forgotten favorites on other peoples' lists!

  13. Great list! I totally forgot about So I Married An Ax Murderer. "Harriet, sweet Harriet. Hard hearted harbinger of haggis." :)

  14. Thanks for your comment, Natasha!

I'm loving the "honorable" mention additions in your post. It was hard to pick just ten movies!

  15. Oh I forgot about Miss Potter - top movie. I must watch that again actually. I have it somewhere. Apart from that, your list is quite quirky! Some odd, though fn choices; movies I'd never have thought of, but recall watching with a smile on my face. :D

  16. I appreciate your visit, David. Yes, Miss Potter is a good movie, I recommend it. I've also added movies from your list which I have not seen to my "to be seen" list!

    ReplyDelete
  17. MJ, I appreciate your comment. Brannagh's Henry V was compared negatively with Laurence Olivier's. I've seen both, and with all due respect to Olivier's talent, I prefer the newer version.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Oh my gosh... I'm disoriented... the only one of those I've seen is Red... (I love Red, but I think this is the list I knew least)

  19. Thanks for stopping by, Sus! As a huge fan of alliteration, that line is one of my favorites from the movie! I also liked the "small" cappuccino. And Amanda Plummer makes a great 'off the wall' character, in Axe Murderer, Pulp Fiction and an LNO:SVU episode.

  20. I've been wanting to watch GalaxyQuest but haven't found the time. Loved Stargate too!

  22. Thanks for the visit, Hart. I agree with you, we had no movies in common. Oh, well, that's what these hops and fests are for, introducing ourselves to new people and new ideas! :O)

  23. I appreciate your comments, Shah. Yes, there are a couple of oddballs on my list. I tried to leave a comment on your blog, and although there were many comments already there, there was no place for me to enter a name/email and it would not take a comment w/o that information. :(

Here's the comment I tried to leave:

Argh, I should have done this too, favorites from various genres! I didn't think of Cowboys and Aliens, which was a great movie. I would also add "Unbreakable" with Bruce Willis and Samuel Jackson.

  24. Welcome to my porch, Nutschell. I liked the movie Galaxy Quest so much that my kids gave me the DVD one year for Mother's Day!

  25. If it's not Scottish its crap. That is my favorite line to use in everyday conversation.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Glad to "see" you, Pat. Roman Holiday is about a princess and a news reporter. I don't want to spoil it so I'll stop there.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Thanks for your comment, Jon, I've been known to use that line, oh, now and again, in my conversations. Now working, "it's spherical, but quite pointy in parts" is a little harder to work in but makes me chuckle every time.

  28. I loved 2009 Star Trek. I was never a fan of the series until that movie. Now I can't wait to see the new one!

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  43. Great to meet you too, Julie! Blazing Saddles, I will stay up late to watch that one! :) And I've seen Life is Beautiful on a couple of lists today so that one is definitely on my to-see list!

    ReplyDelete
  44. Oh, "M" (that sounds so James Bond, doesn't it?), I love just about any movie where Charlton Heston is without a shirt - Planet of the Apes, The Ten Commandments etc etc.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Thanks so much for your visit, Alex. You must have been crazy busy today. I've had loads of fun and written more comments on more blogs today than I ever have. Now I'm tired! *LOL*

    ReplyDelete
  46. Thanks, Kathleen! I liked the movie Stargate somewhat more than the series, but not using James Spader in the series probably had something to do with that!

    ReplyDelete
  47. Thanks for commenting, LD! That's part of the fun of having a bunch of people participate in a Top 10 blogfest, not only do you get to learn things about your festmates, but the others will probably remember ones you've forgotten!

    ReplyDelete
  48. Thanks for your visit, Laura. Yup, Galaxy Quest rocks...if I ever get done making comments on blogs today I'm going to treat myself to watching it!

    ReplyDelete
  49. I hear you, Trish. Ever since the "Scottish Store" sketches on SNL, I've been a Mike Meyers fan. One of my favorite lines...

"Scotch is a drink; Scots are a people. But we're BOTH quite tasty!"

  50. Oh Mina, I am so glad you stopped by. I had tried to put the Big Reveal blogfest graphic on my Photobucket, but couldn't access the site earlier. Now it is all taken care of an on my blog.

    ReplyDelete
  54. I didn't get to see Miss Potter. Maybe I'll rent that one. Good list!

    ReplyDelete
  55. I LOVED Stargate when it first came about. The movie was brilliant but I feel like it's been overshadowed by the series which some episodes I've found quite painful to watch. :3

    ReplyDelete
  56. I haven't seen any of these classics. Thanks for providing the list.
Loubna from tajoon.com following you back.
