The residents of Cottonwood, Kentucky are sent into a tizzy when the Culinary Channel comes to town to film an episode of Southern Home Cookin’ with celebrity chef Frank Von Lee.
Especially Sheriff Kenni Lowry.
Her mama’s award-winning chicken pot pie is what brought Frank to town, and they don’t make hair in the South bigger than her mama’s ego after the news.
When Frank Von Lee is found dead from food poisoning and the most likely culprit is Mama’s chicken pot pie, Kenni’s poppa, the former sheriff, comes back from the Great Beyond to assist in the investigation.
But nothing’s prepared Kenni for such a personal tie to a case, and she finds herself pushing the limits of the laws she’s sworn to protect.
This book’s so delicious it’ll make your mouth water and leave you hankerin’ for more.

MY REVIEW
Sheriff Kenni Lowry has another murder on her hands. Which means Tonya Kappes has another awesome book to her credit. And Kenni is only one of eight of Kappes' heroines that keep readers so entertained.
I love the covers of her books. They are colorful, the titles are way punny (which I l.o.v.e.) and the pictures tie in with the title/subject of the story inside. And they are instantly recognized as a Kappes cover, which is nice for reader-fans like me. (So you see, it's more than just the fact that TK is from Kentucky - I'm down south from her a ways and thrilled to see such a talented and prolific author from my home state!)
And you really can't blame Mrs. Kenni's Mama for being a teensy bit stoked that it was her pot pie recipe that brought a celebrity cooking show to town. But you also can't blame her if her head feels like it is about to pop when the celebrity chef turns up poisoned, and most likely from something added to the pot pie!
So, solving this crime and solving it quick are priorities for Kenni. And coincidentally for Kenni's papaw, who is both a former sheriff and a ghost!
Kappes captures the spirit of Kentucky small towns once again in Six Feet Under and is always a pleasure to read. The mystery is creative, the story well-paced, and the recipes,
